Rochester Today – Tom Ostrom on the Crusades and ISIS

President Obama's remarks concerning the Crusades during a prayer breakfast were debated Tuesday morning during the Rochester Today show with Tom Ostrom and Andy Brownell on KROC-AM. 

While deploring the evil deeds of Islamic State militants and others in the Middle East, Obama took pains to point to the actions of Christian forces during the Crusades and his remarks inflamed the President's critics. Tom Ostrom was among them. He lamented the president's lack of historical context in comparing the war between Christians and Muslims over control of the Holy Lands 800 years ago to the brutality exhibited by Islamic extremists today, which prompted a flood of interesting calls from KROC-AM listeners.
