The vast moving and significant news of the day is a challenge to follow and assimilate. One way to absorb it is to study the quotes of newsmakers, analysts, and readers. That is our mission in this column.

Scholar, historian, and author Victor Davis Hanson helps us assess the horrendous Hamas attack on Israel in a recent interview with media pundit Tucker Carlson. Hanson: “Will Biden get from the attacks on Ukraine and Israeli borders, that borders matter, and we too are being invaded…with the encouragement of the Mexican government…to the advantage of cartels whose fentanyl exports kill 100,000 Americans a year?” And regarding Hamas's attack on Israel: “The U.S. should restore full sanctions against Iran…undertake massive arms lift to Israel…and if Israel and the U.S. show “hesitation or weakness, other terrorist groups will jump in.”

Powerline’s Scott Johnson cites “the spirit of Leo Amery and Victor Davis Hanson on a bill of particulars: The Biden Administration destroyed the Southern border, and immigration law with it. Our military is thousands of recruits short. It lacks sufficient munitions. The Department of Justice, CIA, and FBI have become weaponized. Ideology, politics, and race, not law; guide their investigations, intelligence operations, and law enforcement.”

On the conflicts and lack of compromise on the domestic political scene, Gateway Pundit reporter Margaret Flavin cites former Democratic African-American Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson “leaving the sinking Democratic ship to switch to the Republican Party,” saying in the Wall Street Journal, “The future of America’s great urban centers depends on the nation’s mayors to champion law and order and practice fiscal responsibility…. long a defining characteristic of the GOP.”

Political factions, left and right, make compromise and problem-solving almost impossible to achieve, amid a warning from Jinny Choi, a Minnesota naturalized citizen and financial executive from South Korea. Choi spoke to Liz Collin of Alpha News, saying, “I thought it is my duty to speak up and help people realize what socialism (in North Korea) is all about, to stop America from going down that path.” Choi then outlined the historical evolution and differences between totalitarian Communist North Korea, and the capitalist Republic of South Korea.

Jinny Choi should give seminars to the university and college socialist students and professors who are not aware of the historical differences, violence, and economic disaster that the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea is, compared to the prosperous and stable American ally of Ms. Choi’s heritage, the Republic of South Korea.
