Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- An ambulance took four people to a hospital and a squad car took a person to jail following a head-on crash near Rochester on Monday.

That’s according to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Captain Tim Parkin. He said deputies responded to the report of a head-on crash in Rochester Township around 11:30 a.m. 

The two-vehicle collision occurred in the 2200 block of 40th St. Southwest, which is just over a mile west of the two-lane road’s interchange with Hwy. 63.

Parkin says the initial crash investigation indicates a westbound vehicle crossed over the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle occupied by two adults and two juveniles.

All four of the people in the eastbound vehicle were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of injuries. One of the eastbound vehicle occupants suffered a broken leg, Parkin said. Their names will not be released.

The driver of the westbound vehicle was identified as 30-year-old Jordan Heimer from Rose Creek. Parkin said deputies suspected Heimer of being under the influence of recently used inhalants

Heimer was also taken from the scene to a hospital, then was transported to the Olmsted County Jail once he was cleared by medical staff. He was arrested on suspicion of Criminal Vehicle Operation -Substantial Bodily Harm

Parkin said deputies obtained a warrant to draw a sample of Heimer’s blood for testing.
