LEWISTON, Minn. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a woman who was found dead in the woods near Lewiston in southeastern Minnesota.

The Winona County sheriff's office identified her Sunday as 24-year-old Tasha Lynn Hanson. Searchers discovered her body early Saturday.

A 23-year-old man remains jailed on suspicion of second-degree murder, pending his first court appearance Monday.

The Winona Daily News reports that birth records show that Hanson and the suspect had two children together, a 3-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter. The newspaper reports that the suspect, whose last recorded residence is in Rushford, has a 2011 conviction for domestic assault in Wabasha County.

No details about the circumstances surrounding Hanson's death have been released.

Winona County Sheriff Ron Ganrude says it remains an active and ongoing investigation.
