A lineman for Xcel Energy was hurt Monday while working near Pine Island.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department says the 33 year old Faribault man was struck on the head by a 40 pound piece of equipment that fell about 30 - 40 feet. The crew was working on a transmission line project and the equipment was being hoisted to the top of a utility pole when it fell.

Captain Scott Behrns says the man was knocked out but later regained consciousness. He was taken to St. Mary’s and apparently discharged later in the day. A Mayo spokeswoman says he was not listed as a patient Tuesday morning.
