Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department has received official confirmation that the body discovered late Friday afternoon was that of a Rochester woman who was reported missing earlier this month.

The confirmation came from the Southern Minnesota Medical Examiners Office, which also confirmed the initial assessment of Police Department investigators that the were no signs of trauma on the remains of Alice Dobmeier.

The Police Department issued a statement Friday evening indicating a body believed to be the 34-year-old woman had been found in a culvert next to a water retention pond along 25th Street Southeast behind the Kohl's store along South Broadway. The report stated that items belonging to Dobmeier were found near the body.

A missing person alert for Dobmeier was issued by Rochester police earlier in the week, requesting the public's assistance in locating her. She was last seen leaving her southwest Rochester residents on March 3rd.

The alert also indicated that she may have been pictured in a social media post from the Culver's Restaurant near the Kohl's store and that her cell phone last pinged in the vicinity of the nearby Menards South store the following day.

At this point, Rochester police say they have not found anything indicating foul play was involved in her death and there is no known threat to the public. The medical examiner's office is conducting an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of her death.
