Accused 'Pimp' For Rochester Prostitution Operation Pleads Guilty

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man currently serving a prison sentence for a prostitution-related conviction is expected to have his sentence extended as a result of a guilty plea entered in Olmsted County Court today.

27-year-old Larry Eddie Konah was charged last August with engaging in sex trafficking, profiting from prostitution, promoting prostitution, and soliciting an individual for prostitution. The charges stemmed from an investigation into a woman's allegations that she was pushed by Konah into working as a prostitute in the Rochester area.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman told Rochester Police investigators that she and Konah began spending time together in October 2022 after she met him through Instagram and he told her she could be a model. The woman indicated Konah eventually became more aggressive with her and forcibly took away her cell phone and used that to set up an account on an app allegedly used to schedule appointments with an escort service.

The court document says Konah allegedly scheduled appointments for her to have sex with customers that he would refer to as "plays." The woman told the police that the "plays" would occur multiple times per week and some \times multiple times per day at an apartment complex in Rochester. It was alleged that Konah would charge the app users from $60 to $400 per "play."

Konah formally entered into a plea agreement today by admitting to a felony charge of receiving profits from prostitution. In exchange, three other prostitution-related charges will be dismissed.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in June. The plea deal recommends an over 8 year prison sentence that would be served concurrently with the 41 month sentence he is currently serving at the Faribault State Prison for his 2022 prostitution-related conviction in St. Paul.

Konah began serving that sentence in January of last year and had been scheduled for possible release in March of next year. If the judge handling his case in Olmsted County follows the recommendation of the plea agreement, Konah won't be eligible for release until the summer of 2028.
