Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A trial date has been set in the case of a former Olmsted County Detention Deputy accused of sexual misconduct.

According to Olmsted County court records, the proceedings against 45-year-old Matthew Adamson are scheduled to begin in the final week of August. He is also scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing in mid August.

Adamson recently entered not guilty pleas to six felony charges and five gross misdemeanor charges stemming from two connected investigations.

He was charged last November with felony counts of hiring an individual believed to be under the age of 14 for prostitution, electronically soliciting a person believed to be a child to engage in sexual conduct, and engaging in electronic communication relating or describing sexual conduct with a child.

Court records indicate the charges were the result of an undercover sting investigation that was conducted by the Rochester Police Department.  According to the criminal complaint, Adamson allegedly attempted to solicit sexual acts from a girl he believed was 13 years old. The "girl" was actually an undercover officer.

The second set of charges accused Adamson of recording and saving videos of several female detainees while they were changing their clothing in a changing room at the Olmsted County Jail. The criminal complaint says the videos were discovered on two external hard drives during a search of his home several days after he was formally charged in the first case.

The court documents indicate investigators obtained a search warrant after they were informed that Adamson was going to attempt to destroy the hard drives. The charges also allege that the computer storage devices contained images from at least five cameras that had been hidden in "separate and distinct bathroom locations." The images are of six females undressing before entering the shower. The complaint says it appears three of them depict girls ranging in age from 10 to 20 years old.

The charges against Adamson in that case include three felony counts of possession of child pornography. He also faces gross misdemeanor counts of interfering with privacy and misconduct by a public official.
