Twin Cities Security Guard Kills Would-Be Robber
EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — Police in a Twin Cities suburb say a security guard has fatally shot an armed man who attempted to rob him.
The shooting happened shortly after midnight Monday in the parking lot of a warehouse in Eagan. The armed security guard told police he was attacked by the gunman who was wearing a ski mask and that he shot the man during the assault. Authorities say the man who was shot died at the scene. The security guard suffered minor injuries. He was not taken to the hospital.
Eagan Officer Aaron Machtemes says a preliminary investigation indicates the guard was acting in self-defense. Police say they are not seeking additional suspects in the incident.
