Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Rochester police are investigating an overnight robbery.A guest at the Red Carpet Inn along South Broadway near the former Golden Hill School was robbed and assaulted by three men around 1:30 this morning.

The three assailants were gone when officers arrived but were later caught in the downtown. They have been identified as 20-year-old Dyreese Brown, 22-year-old Keith West and 24-year-old Sharif Elkarib. The Rochester men are facing robbery and assault charges.

Police Captain John Sherwin says the preliminary investigation indicates the 38-year-old victim got into a argument with an 18-year-old woman about money. She then contacted the three men who went to the victim’s room, beat him up and took his wallet.

The victim suffered head and other injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s for treatment.
