The light snow that fell across SE Minnesota overnight has left roads, sidewalks, parking lots and other surfaces slippery for motorists and pedestrians.
It will feel like an oven in the Rochester area Friday as temps will climb into the 90’s and unlike the May heatwave, it will be humid. The combination of heat and humidity will push heat index readings well over 100 degrees.
While I was sipping my cup of goodness while waiting at a stoplight on West Circle Drive in NW Rochester, I saw it in the sky...a funnel cloud! I didn't snap a pic but I did track down a few people who grabbed a great photo!
The coldest April on record was followed by the 3rd warmest May in the Rochester area. The National Weather Service reports the end result was a very cool spring, with an average temperature of 43.1 degrees (2.6 degrees below normal).
