That’s according to a news release issued Tuesday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota. Earlier this year the U.S. Attorney filed charges against six other people who were allegedly involved in the plan to traffic the deadly drug.

The news release identifies the three new defendants as 27-year-old Phyu Win Jame, 23-year-old Amaya Tiffany-Nicole Mims and 24-year-old Da’Shawn Natori Domena

All three are charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. Federal court documents allege the nine individuals were involved in a plan that involved some of the defendants traveling to Phoenix Az, to obtain the deadly drug from suppliers.

They would then hide the fentanyl inside of stuffed animals and ship the animals to various addresses across the Twin Cities Metro.

The news release says the alleged trafficking operation began in August of 2022 and ceased in December of 2023 when authorities in Dakota, Ramsey and Washington Counties became aware of the operation and launched a joint investigation.

That investigation led to the seizure of six packages containing over 30,000 grams of fentanyl pills. Jame and Mims have made their first court appearances.
