Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Rochester City Council President Randy Staver is running for reelection.

He officially announced Thursday that he will be seeking a second term in the at-large position in fall 2016 election. Staver was first elected to the City Council in 2010 to represent the 5th ward, but then won a May 2013 special election for City Council President following the unexpected death of Dennis Hanson the previous summer.

He is the first member of the City Council up for reelection next year to officially launch a reelection campaign.
