ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Police have arrested a 21-year-old man after a woman was fatally shot in St. Paul.

According to a St. Paul police news release, officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting at about 3:40 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found a woman dead.

Sgt. Paul Paulos tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press police believe the woman and the suspect knew each other.

Paulos says officers are questioning the other people in the home at the time. He says officers reached the suspect by phone and he agreed to meet them.

The woman's identity wasn't immediately released.

Investigators are still piecing together what happened before the woman's death.
