The Rochester School District is expecting slow, but steady increases in enrollment over the next few years.

The School Board will be presented Tuesday night with an updated enrollment projection report that shows the number of students attending K through 12 classes in the district is predicted to grow by about 650 students by the 2024-25 school year.

The majority of the enrollment increase is projected to occur over the next five years. The district’s official enrollment last fall was 17,144 and the report predicts the student headcount will rise by a little over 100 students this fall, with similar increases each year through the fall of 2020.

The school district uses a conservative method for projecting enrollment, and over the past several years, those methods have under-estimated the number of students attending the Rochester Public Schools.
