The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Awareness and Resistance 14, a social justice organization formed last week to protest Castile's death, held a rally Friday evening that culminated at Carty Park. It was intended to be the first night of a 14-day encampment.

Police said officers arrived at the park's closing time and ordered 30 to 40 people to disperse. Most left peacefully but six people were arrested and cited for violating city ordinances, including two who were taken to jail for outstanding warrants or because they'd been involved before in illegal protests.

Organizers accused police of storming the gathering. Several protesters had returned to the park as of Saturday afternoon.
