Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A young woman who recently moved to Rochester was mugged early Friday - about a block away from the Law Enforcement Center.

A police spokesman says the 23-year-old was walking home and was near the intersection of 4th St and 3rd Ave SE around 2 a.m. when she heard someone running up from behind her. As she turned to see who it was, a man punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground. The man tried grabbing her purse but she hung on to it. The man did take her phone, which she had dropped when she was punched.

The woman walked home and called 911.  She did not seek medical attention.
