The Rochester Police Department reported arresting the suspect on Wednesday. The charges are the result of an investigation that was launched thanks to an internet tip that local investigators received last month.

Rochester Police Lt. Jennifer Hodgeman said 27-year-old Kevyn Heath was arrested Monday after law enforcement executed a search warrant at his home. Heath is now being held on $1 million bail without conditions after making his first court appearance on Wednesday.

The criminal complaint says Rochester Police received a cyber tip on Feb. 13, regarding an image depicting suspected child sexual abuse material being uncovered by Snapchat.

The suspect image was used on the social media app last July and was also connected with an account of the messaging platform Discord in December 2023. Investigators traced an email associated with the account to Heath’s Rochester home in the 4000 block of Valley Dr. Northwest, the court document says.

A review of documents from Discord revealed a conversation in which Heath sent a photo of himself and two sexually explicit images to a girl described to be under the age of 16, the complaint says.

Discord records also indicate Heath told a user about having a sex interaction with an infant girl. He then sent multiple sexually explicit images of himself and the girl, who is suspected of being under the age of two at the time the photos were taken, the charges say.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).

Heath confirmed to an investigator the accounts associated with the cyber tip belonged to him. He initially denied taking and possessing the photos then admitted to taking the sexually explicit images with the infant, according to the court document.

Heath has been charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a count of using a minor in pornographic work and a dissemination of child pornography charge. He’s due back in court later this month.
