St. Paul, MN (Learfield News Service) -  The state Department of Natural Resources has ticketed a sheriff from southeast Minnesota for violating a deer hunting law.

The agency says Wabasha County Sheriff Rodney Bartsh was cited for using someone else's hunting license to tag a deer during the season opener.

The DNR has seized the deer.
