A patrol officer pulled over a car driven by 19 year old Demonterious Jackson. After smelling marijuana, the officer ordered Jackson out of the vehicle and during a patdown, felt a handgun. Jackson then took off running but was caught a short distance away. He no longer had the gun but it was located and later linked to a recent shooting in a southeast neighborhood. In the December 21st incident, police say a teenager fired a gun at a car. That teen and another one were later apprehended and charged. They told police the gun was stolen but they no longer had possession of the weapon. Jackson was expected to be arraigned today. It’s not known if he will also face charges in connection to the shooting.
