Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Olmsted County Public Works has secured 2016 federal funds for a reconstruction/preservation project on a 3.5 mile segment of County State Aid Highway 9, from CSAH 22 (East Circle Drive) to County Road 119 South.

The project will include total reconstruction of the roadway from CSAH 22 through the CSAH 11 intersection and resurfacing from CSAH 11 to CR 119 South.

The County will be hosting an open house meeting today for the public to discuss concept designs, ways to improve the current conditions, opportunities for access management and improved safety, as well as potential right-of-way impacts to property owners. The project is currently in the preliminary design concept phase with construction anticipated to begin in the spring of 2016.

The meeting will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Olmsted County Campus, 2100 Campus Drive SE in the Whitewater & Cascade Conference Rooms.

Interested individuals are encouraged to attend any time during the open house. A brief presentation at 5:30 pm will provide project information and summarize the next steps in development. Olmsted County right-of-way and design personnel as well as design consultant staff will be available to listen to concerns and answer questions.
