Minnesota’s unemployment rate was down slightly last month.

The State Department of Employment and Economic Development today reported the seasonally adjusted jobless rate for June was down a tenth of a point from May at 4.5-percent. That is over a half point below the rate from June of last year and is the lowest the rate has been since February 2007.

The department says Minnesota’s economy had a net gain of about 8500 jobs last month. Over the past year, the state has added over 53,000 jobs for a job growth rate of 1.9-percent.
