Undated (KROC AM News) - Minnesota experienced a sizable increase in sales of existing homes last month.

The latest data from the State Association of Realtors shows the number of closings jumped nearly 21-percent when compared to March of last year. Pending sales were up 27-percent from a year ago, while the median sales price rose 9.5-percent to $184,000.

Since the start of the year, existing home sales in Minnesota are up 7.3-percent when compared to the first quarter of 2014, and the median sales price has risen over 11-percent.

In southeastern Minnesota, the Minnesota Association of Realtors is reporting the number of closings on existing home sales in March was up over 33-percent from a year ago, while the median sales price was up about 16-percent.
