Man Sentenced in Domestic Assault Case
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to five years on probation for a felony domestic assault conviction.
38-year-old James Bailey was also given a nearly three-month jail sentence, but he won’t serve any additional time because he was given credit for the time he is already spent in jail.
Bailey was arrested in April after an ex-girlfriend reported that he broke into her apartment through a rear door after she refused to allow him inside her home. After getting inside, the woman told the police Bailey chased her around the residence and took her cell phone before he fled in a car after another person in the apartment called 911.
He was originally charged with two counts of first-degree burglary in the case, but those charges were dismissed through a plea agreement.
