MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Lynx have acquired guard Renee Montgomery from Seattle in a deal for injured guard Monica Wright.

The Lynx also receive the Storm's second-round draft pick in 2016 in the trade announced Monday.

Montgomery has career averages of 10.6 points, 3.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 23.8 minutes per game. The 5-foot-7 guard has played in 17 games for the Storm this season, including two starts, and has averaged 7.1 points, 3.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds.

Montgomery originally was drafted by the Lynx in 2009. During her one season in Minnesota, she averaged 9.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds.

Wright has career averages of 7.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists. The 5-10 guard recently had arthroscopic surgery on her right knee.

Lynx star Maya Moore gets player of week award again

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore has been named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The award was announced Monday by the league.

Moore averaged 29 points in leading the Lynx to three wins in three games last week. The highlight came Sunday when Moore had a franchise-record 30 of her 32 points in the second half in a 79-72 victory over the Tulsa Shock. She also had 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals in that game.

Moore ranks third in the WNBA in scoring this season with an average of 20.4 points per game.

The Lynx are missing guards Seimone Augustus and Monica Wright, both of whom recently had arthroscopic knee surgery. On Monday the Lynx traded Wright to the Seattle Storm.
