Operation Chokehold was the subject of a weekend homework assignment for Andy Brownell and Tom Ostrom, who both reported what they learned during Tuesday's Rochester Today show on KROC-AM.

The program was launched by the Obama administration as part of an effort to crackdown on unscrupulous Third Party Payment Processors, but it appears it has expanded to become a tool of "Big Brother" and is having a negative impact on law abiding business people. Operation Chokehold was designed to pressure banking institutions to deal with "bad operators" that utilize misleading tactics or outright trickery to get consumers into agreements that allow the Third Party Payment Processors to withdraw funds from consumers' bank accounts.

While that sounds like a noble endeavor, numerous reports have surfaced about honest businesses, particularly those dealing with gun sales, having their access to banking curtailed by financial institutions that contend Operation Chokehold related regulations were to blame.
