(Rochester, Minn.)— The Rochester Honkers dropped their third straight game Tuesday night as they fell to the Willmar Stingers 5-1.  Starting pitcher Jayson Yano (Stevens Institute) took his first loss of the season to fall to 2-1.  Will Lydon (Pacific) picked up the win for the Stingers. Rochester managed just four hits on the game, two of which belonged to Matt Fiedler (Minnesota).

The Honkers fell behind early as Yano surrendered three runs on four hits in the first. Willmar plated one more in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead they would never look back from. Leadoff man Miles Mastobuoni (College of San Mateo) scored the Honkers only run on an infield error in the fifth, but that was the lone bright spot for the Honkers offense on the night. Wllmar padded their lead with one run in the eighth, and Rochester could not mount a serious scoring threat in the ninth.

After dropping this game, the Honkers slip to 8-5 on the season and now sit third in the NWL North Division.

The Honkers take on Willmar again Wednesday, starting at 7:05. They will be back at Mayo Field on Thursday, June 11th, for a double header against Alexandria beginning at 6:05. There will be a Lanyard Giveaway, and it will be Walk in the Light Church Night.
