Rochester, MN (rochesterhonkers.com) -- The Rochester Honkers fell to the Duluth Huskies 7-3 on Sunday afternoon. Jordan Gross (Tulane) picked up the loss for Rochester, while Bo Hellquist (Minnesota-Duluth) earned the win for Duluth.

Joe DeRoche-Duffin (UCONN) hit his fourth homerun of the season, keeping him among the league leaders in that category. Cole Krzmarzick (Nevada) went 2-3 at the plate with one walk and one run scored for the Honkers as well. Outfielder Danny Lee (State College of Manatee) lead the Huskies offense with three hits, two RBIs and a run scored in five at-bats.

Rochester struck the first blow in the second when Ryan Webberley (Cal Poly-Pomona) brought Brad Mathiowetz (DMACC) home with an RBI single in his first at bat with the Honkers.

The Huskies pulled even on a solo home run by Matt McLaughlin (Kansas) in the third, but the tie didn't hold long as Joe DeRoche-Duffin (UCONN) knocked his own bomb over the fence to make it 2-1 after three innings.

Two runs by Duluth against Honkers starter Gross gave the Huskies thier first lead of the game.

2 runs in the seventh and one in the eighth gave Duluth a 6-2 lead. The Honkers would score once in the bottom of the eighth as Krzmarzick would come in from thrid on a throwing error, but the Huskies pushed the lead back to four with a corresponding run in the top of the ninth.

The Honkers travel to St. Cloud Monday for a double header as they finish a suspended game from June 6th. That game, which the Honkers lead 6-3 in the bottom of the third, will be played to nine innings. The second game will be seven innings.

The Honkers next home game is Wednesday June 17th against the Eau Claire Express starting at 7:05.
