Iowa City, IA (Gophersports.com) - The Gophers outhit Iowa by three, but only scored once as the Hawkeyes won 7-1 to complete a series sweep at Duane Banks Field.

Minnesota (19-29, 7-14 Big Ten) had 10 hits to Iowa's (37-12, 18-3 Big Ten) seven, but Iowa also drew seven walks.

Designated hitter Matt Fiedler hit 3-for-4 with the Gophers' only RBI. Joel Booker was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Iowa, and Daniel Aaron Moriel hit a solo home run.

Iowa scored five runs on three hits and five walks against starter Dalton Sawyer (3-3), who pitched 3 1/3 innings. A two-run double by Jake Mangler in the second highlighted Iowa's early offensive production.

The Gophers plated their lone run in the fifth. Third baseman Micah Coffey singled up the middle. Second basemanConnor Schaefbauer and Fiedler hit back-to-back two-out singles, and Coffey scored from second on Fiedler's third hit of the game.

Minnesota left two men on base in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings. The Gophers also stranded catcher Matt Halloran after a leadoff double in the sixth.

Schaefbauer and first baseman Austin Athmann each hit 2-for-4. On the mound, Lucas Gilbreath pitched a long relief outing of 3 2/3 innings, allowing two hits, including Moriel's home run. Calvin Mathews (6-1) pitched five innings for the Hawkeyes, giving up seven of Minnesota's hits and its one run. Nick Hibbing was credited with a save after pitching the last four innings.
