(GopherSports.com) -- The Golden Gopher baseball team lost 12-3 in the series finale against Michigan on Sunday. Minnesota (18-21, 7-11 Big Ten) tied the game after trailing 3-0 but the Wolverines (27-17, 11-7 Big Ten) broke the game open with six runs in the seventh.

Michigan starter Brett Adcock (6-3) recorded 11 strikeouts and allowed three runs on six hits in eight innings. Jake Bivens led the Wolverines at the plate with two runs, two RBIs and 4-for-4 hitting.

Shortstop Michael Handel and first baseman Austin Athmann each hit 2-for-4 for the Gophers. Handel drove in two runs, including Athmann's, with a single.

NOTABLE
*Handel's reached base streak is now at 16 games. Injured center fielder Dan Motl has the team's longest active on base streak at 18 games, including a 17-game hitting streak.
