Gopher Football Team Gets Ready for the Opener
Minneapolis, MN (Learfield) -- The days are drawing nearer to the season opener for the Minnesota Golden Gopher Football team as they get ready to host Oregon State on Sept. 1.
The Beavers head coach is Gary Anderson who previously was the head coach at Wisconsin. Gopher head coach Tracy Claeys admits that he might prepare Oregon State a little more than the average non conference opponent.
The Beavers won just two games last season which is a stark contrast to last years opening opponent in T-C-U who, at the time, were ranked second in the country.
All the games can be heard once again this season on 1340 KROC AM. The opening game coverage begins at 7 o'clock Thursday night, Sept 1 with an 8 o'clock kickoff from TCF Bank Stadium.
