Undated (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting a fatal motorcycle accident, apparently the first one in the state this year.

It happened around 4:45 PM Thursday in the Twin Cities metro.

The State Patrol says 36-year-old Andre Caine of Lakeville was driving a motorcycle through an intersection in Prior Lake when a pickup truck turned in front of him. The motorcycle hit the truck broadside on the passenger side and Caine suffered fatal injuries. The truck was driven by 18-year-old Benjamin Provost of Prior Lake. The State Patrol says he turned on a flashing yellow signal.

A woman being pursued by a Le Sueur County deputy late Thursday night after being spotted driving in the wrong lane ended up colliding with the squad car. The State Patrol says 32-year-old April Valliant of Mapleton was driving erratically from side to side on a rural road and refused to pull over. She eventually went into a ditch and when she came back onto the road her car was struck by the squad. Valliant was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer was not hurt.
