MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Police say a woman has died after being struck in a hit-and-run in north Minneapolis.

Minneapolis police said in a news release that police were called to the scene around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and that 911 callers said a vehicle had hit a woman and fled. Police say she was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where she later died Tuesday night.

The vehicle involved is being sought by police. According to police, witnesses described it as a white, older model Ford Crown Victoria, and it was seen on city cameras.

Police say the medical examiner's office will provide the woman's identity and determine the cause of her death.
