DAYTON, Minn. (AP) — A 37-year-old man has died in an explosion at a welding company in Dayton.

KSTP-TV reports the explosion happened at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Crystal Welding. Police say the man was welding on a pontoon when an explosion happened and he was hit by shrapnel.

The man was wearing a welding helmet. Dayton Police Chief Paul Enga says no one else was hurt.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office will do an autopsy. The state Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
