The 2017 Townsquare Media Home, Vacation and RV Show opens Friday at Graham Arenas in Rochester.

This will be the 54th year for the show and the 34th year that I've participated as an employee of the radio station. It's always been at the Graham Arena, but has grown from an event that filled the original area to the brim with vendors offering home improvement services and vacation getaways to a gigantic gathering place for those businesses and the latest in recreational vehicles and campers spread across two full arenas at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds.

It's always fun to see the vendors that return year after year and to check out the new ones that book a booth and offer their goods and services to the over one million people who have visited the show during the past five decades. It's become a Rochester area tradition that attracts people from 150 communities throughout the region. Many return every year. First bringing their children and then their grandchildren as they sign up for various promotional giveaways and gather up the free goodies offered by the vendors.

The Home, Vacation and RV Show is always changing, but there's also always something I can find that brings back my memories of walking the aisles with my parents as a child in the 1960's and early 70's with a free balloon tied to my wrist and a new yardstick or ruler stuffed in my goody bag.

Create some memories this weekend and stop by the Townsquare Media Home, Vacation and RV Show.
