Eagle Lake, MN (KROC-AM News)- A young Minnesota man lost his life in a single-vehicle rollover crash in the southern area of the state Saturday morning.

The State Patrol responded to the crash around 1:10 a.m. The young driver was the lone occupant in his vehicle. 

The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 60 and Blue Earth County Rd. 17, which is about 10 miles east of Mankato.

A compact car was heading south in the westbound lane of Hwy. 60 when it left the roadway and rolled, according to the state crash report. 

The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Mikael James Newton of Madison Lake, MN. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The report says alcohol was involved in the deadly rollover crash. It’s unknown if he was buckled up. 

Hwy. 60 was dry at the time of the fatality, the report says.
