Undated (KROC-AM News) - After declining for three straight months, a respected measurement of the manufacturing sector of Minnesota’s economy rebounded last month.

The latest Mid-America Business Conditions Survey put the state’s overall index for January at the 50.1, which is barely in the range that predicts growth. The index had slid well into the range indicating a contraction during the fourth quarter of last year, and the reading in December was a very anemic 39.4.

The employment component of Minnesota’s index rose to 53.9 last month, which suggests modest job gains could occur in coming months.
