Winona County Man Charged in the Death of His Daughter

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — La Crosse County authorities say they have charged a man and his girlfriend in the death of his 3-year-old daughter, who authorities say was abused and malnourished.

The La Crosse Tribune reports 30-year-old Dylan Bartsh of Altura and 24-year-old Jaymie Rundle of Holmen were charged Tuesday with child neglect resulting in death and physical abuse of a child.

According to authorities, Bartsh's daughter died Oct. 31 at a hospital three days after having a seizure. Court records say doctors found bruises, scratches and scarring on her face and body.

The girl's death was ruled a homicide by a medical examiner, who also said high levels of table salt contributed.

Court records say a defense attorney has not been assigned to Bartsh or Rundle. Bartsh was awaiting extradition from Minnesota on Tuesday.
