Teenager Sentenced to Prison for Murder-Related Robbery
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester teenager has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his involvement in a robbery that led to a fatal shooting last summer.
18-year-old Jerome Zachary earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of simple robbery through a plea agreement that led to the dismissal of a first-degree aggravated robbery charge. Zachary, along with 21-year-old Demonterious Jackson and 22-year-old Trumane Gillmore were accused of robbing 19-year-old Courtney Ocegueda of Rochester of about two hours before he shot and killed Gillmore at the Parkside Mobile Home Park.
Zachary and Jackson were both a wounded in the August 31st shooting, which led to 2nd degree murder charges against Ocegueda.
Jackson was previously sentenced to 68 months in prison for his role in the robbery.
