Randolph, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Patrol has identified the teenager who lost his life in a single-vehicle rollover crash in southern Minnesota Wednesday morning.

First responders were dispatched to the crash scene around 8 a.m. It happened on Hwy. 56 in Randolph at the intersection of Dakota County Rd. 88. 

The state crash report says a northbound pick-up went off the two-lane highway to the right, entered the ditch and rolled. The teenager, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle, was ejected during the crash.

He has been identified as 17-year-old Tayven Matthew Geiger of Goodhue. The young driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The report says snow and ice were on the road at the time of the fatality. The tragic crash closed Hwy. 56 through Randolph for about three hours.
