Prison Sentence For Fraud Against Northwest (Delta) Airlines

ATLANTA (AP) — Federal prosecutors in Atlanta say a California man has been sentenced in a conspiracy to defraud an airline out of more than $36 million.

Authorities say 62-year-old Michael Yedor of Los Angeles conspired with Paul Anderson, who was employed with Northwest Airlines since 1979 and began working as a manager for Delta in Minneapolis, Minnesota after the airlines merged.

Prosecutors say between at least 1999 and 2013, Yedor submitted fraudulent invoices on behalf of a company he purportedly owned for services that had never been provided. Prosecutors say Yedor sent invoices to Anderson, who was authorized to approve payments and was given a kickback.

Yedor pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Anderson is scheduled to be sentenced on January 23rd.
