One Killed When Two City Buses Collide in Duluth (UPDATED)
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Duluth police say a man was killed when two city buses crashed into each other.
Duluth Transit Authority administrator Jim Heilig (HEYE'-lig) says the crash happened about 5 a.m. Tuesday downtown.
Authorities say a total of 17 people were on the two buses, including the drivers. Nine people were treated at hospitals.
WDIO-TV reports police say one bus struck a stoplight and then collided with another bus coming the opposite direction before coming to a stop at concrete barriers in front of a construction site.
The name of the victim has not been released. Police have not said yet if he was a bus passenger or a pedestrian. Both bus drivers survived.
Police closed a street where the collision occurred as the accident was investigated.
