Minneapolis Pool Evacuated For Possible Drowning
Minneapolis, MN (Minnesota News Network) – The brand new Webber Park pool in north Minneapolis had only been open a little more than one day when a drowning scare led police to evacuate the facility so a search could be done.
A lifeguard thought a child had jumped into the pool and then didn’t resurface. After a two-hour search, rescue crews decided it was a false alarm.
Water clarity was an issue in the only natural public pool in North America. That means it uses plants in a nearby pond to filter its water instead of chemicals.
So many people had come to the pool on its second day of operation, some had to be turned away.
