Loaded Gun Found on Rochester Assault Suspect
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man was arrested early Sunday in the downtown Rochester bar district for a reported assault. He got himself into more trouble after police found a loaded handgun in one of his pockets.
A man flagged down an officer to report he had just been punched in the face. As the 21-year-old was describing the assailant to the officer, the suspect happened to walk by. The man - 28-year-old Michael Lane, who has a Rochester address - was wanted on a Ramsey County warrant.
He is also expected to be charged with possessing the gun because a past conviction prohibits him from owning a firearm.
