Lime began operating in Rochester in August 2019, introducing electric scooters that quickly became a popular mode of transportation. Responding to demand, Lime expanded its fleet and introduced e-bikes to the downtown area.

The Rochester City Council just approved a new contract which means 300 scooters and 50 e-bikes will be available to rent again this year. There are some new rules that include potential fines for violations. Read about those and find out when the scooters will be available below.

New Rules For Operating Lime Scooters and E-Bikes in Rochester

A press release on the City of Rochester’s website explains new mandatory parking zones.

New to the program this year are mandatory parking zones designed to keep unused scooters and e-bikes from becoming a hazard or nuisance in select locations. Users ending their trips near these areas will be guided in-app to park closer to designated pins. The zones are located in Cascade Lake Park, Quarry Hill Park, Central Park, Mayo Park, Silver Lake, Soldiers Field, and the Downtown District.
