Fed Audit Critical of MNsure Cyber Security

St. Paul, MN (Learfield Wire Service) - A new federal audit of MNsure says the state-run health exchange is not adequately protecting the private information of tens of thousands of Minnesotans.

MNsure says it has already “addressed nearly all of the audit’s findings” but State Representative Greg Davids of Preston is skeptical and says “you know without divulging any sensitive information, MNsure has to explain what security flaws still exist. If you look at how they worded that, “nearly” you could drive a truck through that thing–so in other words they haven’t.”

Davids is co-chairman of the MNsure Legislative Oversight Committee and says a hearing should be called as soon as possible to address the audit.

So far, no hacks of the MNsure system have been reported.

The next open enrollment period at MNsure begins November 1st.
