DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a 22-year-old woman in the 2014 drug overdose death of a Hermantown nurse.

Kayla Jo Vranish is charged with third-degree murder in St. Louis County court. Vranish is accused of selling heroin to 62-year-old Kathy Ann Davis, who was found dead in her home by her husband on November 30th, 2014.

The Star Tribune reports authorities determined the heroin Davis ingested was laced with fentanyl, a potent narcotic.

Vranish was arrested Wednesday. She remains in jail with bail set at $125,000.

An autopsy found Davis died from an accidental "self-administered" overdose.

Davis' husband told police he found his wife unresponsive with a needle and rubber tourniquet in her hand. He said he knew of her heroin addiction and was trying to get her clean.
