Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Kansas woman is fighting for her life after a vehicle she was riding in was involved in a rollover crash on a southern Minnesota freeway Monday afternoon.

The State Patrol responded to the single-vehicle crash around 2:15 p.m. The driver of the crashed vehicle also suffered injuries. 

First responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County between Albert Lea and the Minnesota-Iowa border.

A pick-up that was traveling in the northbound lane left the roadway then rolled, according to the state crash report

70-year-old Jesma Roberta Hopper of Wichita, Kansas was identified as the passenger of the pick-up. She was taken to an Albert Lea hospital with what are being described as life-threatening injuries.

The driver, identified as 71-year-old John Albert Hopper of Wichita, Kansas, was also taken to an Albert Lea hospital. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

Both of the pick-ups occupants were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the report says. 

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service, MnDOT and Glenville Fire Department also responded to the single-vehicle crash.
