A new report shows Minnesota bucked the national trend last month by recording a drop in home foreclosure activity.

The latest data from the firm RealtyTrac shows there were just under 1,100 foreclosure related filings in the state in January. That’s down over 11-percent from December and is over 27-percent below the total from January of last year.

Nationwide, overall foreclosure activity rose about 5-percent last month.
