The headliners for the Twins' Home Opener (which also is Opening Day for the MLB) festivities, which is March 28th, were just announced earlier today! Justin Morneau will throw the first pitch on Opening Day, local singer Har Mar Superstar will sing the national anthem, and Lawrence Cline, World War II Vet from Alexandria, MN will be raising the flag.

Lawrence Cline will get the honors of raising the flag on Opening Day. He's 100 years old and is a World War II veteran. The Star Tribune writes that he was drafted into the Army at the age of 22 and served from 1942-1945. He spent more than 2 years overseas mostly near Australia. After the war, he "returned to Minnesota and worked for Northern Pacific Railroad, Western Union and Soo Line Railroad among others."

If you're planning on going to the Twins Home Opener you should try to be one of the first 30,000 fans because you'll get a free Twins puffer vest!
